The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I was so hoping that on this post I could show you our new carpets in place and our living room/dining area decorated. Our carpets were delivered this morning (the good) after many delays. We immediately set to unrolling the smaller carpet which goes under the dining table. Below is a photo of the carpet after I finished vacuuming it and getting the table in place.

We placed the chairs and I went on to organize the living room space to get ready for the larger carpet. Just prior to calling Mr. Squash over to help me unroll it, I decided it might be wise to open a small portion of the plastic over the carpet to make sure it was the right one. Sure enough - it wasn't (the bad)! After waiting nearly three weeks through delays, we were going to be forced to wait again. After calling the vendor I learned we could get the correct carpet, but it will be another 2 weeks of waiting (the ugly)!

On a lighter note, the other day while Mr. Squash and I were moving his office next to mine, his finger got caught in the flap of his desk - a pretty big boo-boo! Later that day I was out doing some errands and ran across this chocolate bar. One thing that really makes Mr. Squash happy is bacon! He frequently tells me "a pound of bacon" when I ask him what he wants for his birthday!! He is also a chocolate lover. I thought this bacon/chocolate bar would really help take his mind off his hurt finger --- and it did!

The painter is now workinghis way downstairs. By the end of the week he should be done - hooray!

Now Mr. Squash is going to expect treats everytime he hurts himself! A bacon chocolate bar? Very interesting. Well the carpet you do have is gorgeous!!!

The carpet is gorgeous - sorry you're experiencing delays. Ugh!

A bacon chocolate bar - hmmmm! Good for everything that might ail Mr. Squash. LOL

Nice to 'see' you.

Darn, isn't that just typical? You wait and wait for something and then when it finally turns up, it isn't right. Well, at least your dining room carpet is gorgeous! Hope it all gets straightened out quickly.

Oh poor baby! But I have to agree...bacon and chocolate will fix everything...and taste great in the process.

Good thing come to he who waits...even if it means another 2 weeks. Darn!

Is the living room carpet the same design and color? It's gorgeous!

Oh, Candace, what a kind soul you are to Mr. Squash.

Watch out, he may be hurting another finger...LOL

Why always must we experience delays when we are just so darned excited to have it all NOW?! Bummer about that and Mr. Squash's finger....but that bacon chocolate bar....ummm.....not so sure. I've never thought about mixing the two.

The carpet is beautiful, sorry the 2nd one wasn't the right one, how disappointing!

Chocolate bacon bar... where or where did you find THAT? LOL

The rug that did arrive is certainly lovely. I like how it has both lights and darks in it.

I read somewhere the other day (can't remember) someone who made bacon brownies. Not sure that would appeal to me. Did Mr. Squash like the chocolate bacon bar?

Oh, maddening delays when you just want to be finished with a room! Hope two weeks flies by.

Boo boos always heal faster with chocolate, of course! Did you read the insert in that chocolate bar? It was so high-falutin and ridiculous it made me laugh! My uncle got my mom and husband to eat a bite--my mom spit hers out in the sink--so I was not brave enough to try the slightly nauseating sounding combination! How about you--did you try some?

Bacon chocolate sounds about as interesting as garlic ice cream! Good thing Mr. Squash now works close to you so you can take care of the wounded man.

Bacon chocolate is a new one on me. Shame about the rug but at least you have one so that is a little progress. :-)

So did he like the chocolate bar?? At first it doesn't sound so appealing . . . . but then again maybe it could be a really good thing *s*

Wow, there's always so much going on at the Squash House! Hope the booboo is better soon too! So is this bacon bar actually bacon wrapped in chocolate? I'm intrigued with it.

I saw Jessica Biel stick a strip of bacon into a chocolate fountain the other night on Jay Leno. She said it tasted great also.I'll have to give it a try.
