Another package contained a recent order from Des and Corrie over at Quilt Taffy. They had seen this fabric called Feathered Friends from In the Beginning on Rachel's blog, and had to put it in their shop, then of course I saw it in their shop and you know the rest - don't you love how fast the word spreads?! By the way, Rachel is now a Moda Bake Shop gal! Go on over and congratulate her! I'm planning a project with this fabric that will use some of my new, fun Bernina feet! Finally, there was a package I was eagerly awaiting from Marin and Colusa. It's a new product called Stitching Lines. Check out their website and watch the video - it makes sewing HST's, flying geese and other similar blocks a breeze! I emailed Mary and asked her if I could mention the product on my blog. She said great! Mary also has a blog where she has some additional information about Stitching Lines. Included in my order were a few samples of the products attached to a little sticker that said to share it with a friend! So I thought I would share the samples in the form of a giveaway! I'm also including a charm pack of Marisa from Moda. I love the soft spring-like colors and there are enough squares for an apron, table runner or whatever you want to make!

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post in the form of an answer to this question: If you were given a whole day to do anything other than quilt, what would you do? I'll announce a winner this Friday, May 1st - May Day!

Congratulations on your win from Fig tree. You sure did get some nice goodies.
You know I love the Feathered Friends Fabrics. Gotta get me some.
First time I have seen the stitiching lines product. Pretty neat.
The first thing that came to my mind was to take a day trip to the our beautiful mountains and go shopping in the antique stores and take a drive on the parkway. I love the mountains.
Congratulations! What a fun mail day!
In answer to your question, shopping for quilty goodness, of course!
Oh good question because you know we would say quilt, I would love to spend the whole day at the beach with my family, I just adore the beach! I wish I was there now!!!
Oh I love the Feathered Friends fabric, think I need to check out Quilt Taffy. Nover seen those stitching line products, need to check that out too. To answer your question, if flights were quicker, I'd hop on a plane and visit my kids back in Australia for the day, but I'd probably end up staying a month or longer....lol..
Congratulations on your win, very nice prize!! Your Feathered Friends fabric is a pretty line, love those yellow birds. So nice of you to share with us peeps....I would love to spend the day with my Sister, Mother & Daughter doing some antiquing and having a nice lunch together. We all live spread out a bit so it is so nice to be together. I would say gardening but I have done a bit of that this weekend and am a bit sore...LOL...
Wow, great new fabrics you got! I can't wait to see what you are going to do with them!
If I couldn't quilt all day I would knit all day. It's nice having options, LOL!
That's easy...I would spend the whole day in the garden listening to the birds and nurturing my plants.
What a mail haul, I hope your postal carrier has strong arms!
If I didn't have anything to do all day and couldn't quilt, I would go outside and sleep...with mosquito net of course...I just can't stand those bugs.
What a terrific mail day! Joanna sent you some wonderful goodies...and I love those Feathered Friends prints as well! If I were given a whole day to do something other than quilt I would read...that's the one thing I love to do that I do less of because of my quilting obsession!
In answer to your question, I would go to a garden show or park and take pictures of all the beautiful flowers and birds.
Congratulations on your win from Fig tree. Love the bird fabric, now I am going to check it out.
If I can't quilt then I would spend the day either sewing purses or scrapbooking.
A whole day other than quilting....hmmm....that's an easy one for me. I'd relive the day 13 years ago I spent on Balboa Beach in California with my kids and best friend. It was a day that rejuvenated me. I didn't want to leave. I'd never seen the ocean and I never have again. The kids and I talk about it all the time, burying them in the sand, collecting sea shells, feeling the sand between our toes, the sand that got in our picnic lunch, the walks, and staying until it started to get dark. It was a day that I'll never forget and will always remember as one of the greatest days of my life. The only not so great part of the day was my husband couldn't experience it too as he had to stay home in Utah and couldn't go on this vacation with us (the goal was Disneyland). I still have a bottle of sand from the beach and a Tupperware midget of water from the ocean in my office! I'd love to go back.
congrats on your goodies.
and thanks for the shout out!!!
hugs.
if i had a whole day to do something other than quilt {assuming this is a day for me, not me & the fam}, i would...either get wrapped up into a good book or scout out the local flea markets & yard sales for those perfect finds.
yeah. that sounds good.
thanks for hosting a giveaway.
I would spend my day alone stitching something with needle and floss.
What an exciting "mail day" Love the Feathered Friends fabric. I think I need to get some of that. Thanks for mentioning my Stitching Lines.
What a thrill you must have had to see all those goodies in the mail!!
If I had a day to myself I thik that I would bake, I love to bake, it is so relaxing. I would make brownies, cookies, apricot nut bread and maybe a pie.
Then I'd sample everything, of course. I'd pack up what I had left to take to work. My co-workers love when I bake and ask often when I'm going to bring something in.

Congrats on all your 'good' mail! At our house we define good mail as that which is addressed to someone actually living in the house AND is not asking for money ☺
A full day to myself? NEVER HAPPENS. But IF... Sheesh, I would probably clean the house. Nah, let's have fun with this: I'd go shopping (provided the free day came with a wad of cash).
I would spend it with my friend, Candace, shopping, lunch, more shopping.
What a great win! I wish I had your luck!
If I were given a day, I would go to my daughter's college, take her out to lunch and shop a little; maybe get a mani and pedi together! We would have a great day relaxing together--her first year will be over soon!
hmmm, I think I would have to spend the day curled up with a good book and a flannel quilt.
Congratulations on your win! I just love a good mail day like that!
I would spend the day in the boat with Erik fishing....oh I can't wait for summer and fresh walleye :)
Great goodies that you won from Joanna at Fig Tree. Lucky gal! I think you should buy a lottery ticket, Candace. You've been very lucky lately.
I haven't seen the Feathered Friends fabric and it looks wonderful. Just might have to get some.
The Spring flowers in my garden are making me realize how much I've missed painting over the last little while. I think I just might have to take a little stroll through my gardens with my camera and take some photos of the Spring blooms...then dust off the paint brushes...hmmmmmm.
You lucky girl...thanks for sharing your bounty!
I'd love to spend the day at the beach w/family....barbeque-ing....watching the sunset...is it summer yet? LOL!
Okay Candace if it can't be quilting..then I think I have two options here..either gardening or taking a ferry ride over to one of the islands..yes that would be lots of fun...but there should be sunshine...love all of your goodies...what a wonderful mail call you had...Louise
Love the Feathered Friends fabric. How scrumptious!
I'd linger in a bookstore. That's the first thing that came to my mind. Yes, indeedie, I'd love to spend my day amongst the books. Wouldn't you? I'd bring Sophie and Kanga!
We would head for the beach. We grew up in California and now live in the
Southeast. Gotta go see the Atlantic!
Wind blowing, suntan lotion...
Great fabrics for your next project.
Congratulations!

congrats!! fun mail is the best mail.
If I had an entire day I would hang with my kids and work on their scrapbooks. They love to work on them with me and I'm happy to oblige when I can.

I'd love a day to just spend by relaxing by water, listening to birds chirp and the sounds of nothing but nature. If I'm feeling real adventurous take my fishing rod. (it's been years but sounds wonderful doesn't it?)
You did have a wonderful mail day!
If I could have a day where I didn't quilt, it would be warm/hot and sunny, both my children and their spouses and my husband and I would spend the whole day on the lake in the pontoon, eating a picnic lunch, float in the inner tubes and enjoy each others company.
Hi Candace, your new fabrics and winnings are wonderful! Please don't enter me in the drawing since I've already received so much from you, but to answer your question, I'd go kayaking with my husband. We just got back from a whitewater film festival downtown and I've got the bug!!
Wow that was a good mail day, congrats on your winnings. The fabric you purchased is so cute, I'm going to check out that website, I might need to have some of that.
