Sweet Surprises...
Recently Penny at Sew Take a Hike was the winner of my birthday celebration giveaway. What should I find in the mail yesterday, but a package from Penny! This darling little valentine was on top:
And look what else was in the box! A fantastic hat made by Penny - so very soft and warm, a jar of her homemade hot cocoa mix, and three of her homemade chocolate lollipops!
Here Miss Sophie is having fun with the tissue paper wrapping:
And we couldn’t wait to make a mug of hot chocolate - how delicious! Thanks so much Penny for the wonderful gifts!
I’ll leave you today with a another photo from our trip to the Squash House this past weekend. These views are all around us! The snow dappled hills in the background are Oregon's Blue Mountains.

Lucky you the recipient of the wee gifts. It is so nice to see scenery with snow only in the background and on the mountain tops. By mid February, I'm starting to get cabin fever and itching to stick my hands in the dirt in my flower gardens. I hope the sale of your house goes quickly.
Years ago I used to make a Hot Chocolate powder mix for my girls. Would love to have the recipe..Did she by any chance share it?
What a sweet gift to send along to you. Louise
Sweet surprises in the mail, wonderful. Is that a red barn across the field at the base of the Blue Mtns. Love that camera shot. Looks like a wonderful place to retire.
Oh how very kind of her!
So glad you liked the gifts Candace! I hope you mixed the hot chocolate with milk? I forgot to include the instructions with the container! Does the hat fit ok?
We are all so blessed to have such wonderful blog friends and to have such great wonders around us!
What fun! Nothing more fun than finding a surprise in the mailbox . . . . unless that surprise has chocolate!
What a treat! It is so fun to get surprise mail.
How nice to get a surprise in the mail. I love surprises.
How thoughtful of Penny. I see Miss Sophie got in on the surprise as well...LOL
The photos you share of Squash House area are always so absolutely beautiful. I love when you share them.
Such a sweet gift. Don't eat all that chocolate at once...LOL
Sophie's got to have some fun when a package arrives too.
Penny is so nice. These are darling things. I need to make some hot chocolate mix. I have the recipe somewhere.
