I know I said I was going to spend the weekend working on Winter Wonderland blocks, but I got a tad distracted! I thought it wouldn't take me long to put together this darling table-topper. Actually, putting it together was a breeze - but blanket stitching the appliques - now that's another story! Two projects, both with extensive blanket stitch - all I can say is it will be a loooong time before I attempt another similar project! I still need to put on the borders, then I will probably do an overall stipple on it just to get it done. It is pretty cute, don't you think?
I tried out a new (to me) foot on my Bernina 630 for the blanket stitching - the #23 Applique Foot. I think this foot was meant more for satin stitching, but it worked pretty well on the blanket stitch. Do any of you that have Bernina's have a favorite foot for machine applique?
Cheers,
Candace

Candace,
Wow, that is a gorgeous little piece! Sorry, no Bernina. I have done minimal machine piecing, too. Looks like it worked pretty well, whatever you did!

I like the #20 Open Toe Embroidery foot. I can really see what I'm doing and where I'm going!

Candace, I love your little quilt top! I know what you mean about going up and down steps. My DH and I solved that problem by dressing up and sitting on our front porch handing out candy. I dressed up like a witch and my DH dressed up as a mummy and just sat in a chair not moving. Really freaked out the little and big kids alike! -Marla
